What Timeabit records, where it is kept, who else is involved, and how to have it deleted. Last updated 2 October 2026.
Who runs it
Timeabit is operated by Gorkytecture. Questions, corrections and deletion requests go to gorkytecture@gmail.com, which is read by a person.
What is recorded when you sign in
You need a free account to use Timeabit. There are two ways to have one:
- A Timeabit account. Your email address, your name if you give one, and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash by the sign-in service; nobody can read it back.
- A sign-in code by email. One account for Timeabit, Pessage and Design Explorer, Gorkytecture's other apps. It signs you in with a code sent to your email. Timeabit receives only a short, signed confirmation of your email address and keeps a Timeabit account with that email.
Timeabit also keeps when the account was created and when it last signed in, and, if you sign in with a code, reads which plan you have in each app from that shared account.
What is recorded when you use it
- Your time. Entries and plans with their descriptions, start and end times, time zone, notes, work types and whether they are billable.
- Your projects and clients. Names, client names, rates, budgets and fixed prices.
- Your invoicing details. Business name, logo, tax rate, payment terms, invoice numbers, amounts and whether each invoice was sent or paid.
- Your settings. Such as your work hours, week start and goals.
All of this is kept on your device and in your account in the cloud, so every device you sign in on shows the same hours. The app keeps its data and your sign-in in the browser's or the app's own storage. It sets no cookies.
What leaves Timeabit, and when
What you send yourself: a CSV file, a backup, a time report or an invoice you download, print or email from your own mail app.
And, only for a project you link yourself, your hours on that project go to Gorkytecture's other apps:
- Pessage. When a Timeabit project is linked to a Pessage project, or you start a timer on a Pessage item, your hours go to your Pessage timesheet: for each day and item, the hours to the quarter hour, what you wrote you did, and whether it is billable. People who review timesheets on that Pessage project, such as your manager, see them. You submit or withdraw the week yourself.
- Design Explorer. When a Timeabit project is linked to a Design Explorer project, your hours on it go there the same way: per day and item, the hours, what you did, and whether it is billable. People on that Design Explorer project can see them.
- Suggestions. For linked projects, Timeabit reads what you yourself did in Pessage and Design Explorer over the last 14 days, only to suggest time for the gaps in your day.
Rates, earnings and invoices are never sent. Personal projects and planned time are never sent. Unlink a project to stop sending its hours. Timeabit shares your entries with no one else.
Where it is kept, and who else is involved
- Supabase runs the database and the sign-in, on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
- Cloudflare serves the website and the web app, and sees network information such as your IP address, as any web host does.
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface, so Google sees your IP address when the font loads.
- Email delivery. Sign-in codes, confirmations and password resets are sent by Supabase or by Cloudflare's email service on Gorkytecture's behalf.
- Apple, if you install the iPhone app, under Apple's own terms.
Nothing is sold, rented or handed to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
Your data is kept until you delete it. In the app, Settings → Account → Delete account (then confirm) removes your Timeabit account with every entry, project and setting straight away. The hosting provider's backups can hold a copy for up to 7 days before they expire. Signing out keeps a copy on that device until you sign in again or clear it.
Deleting your Timeabit account does not delete the shared account used by Pessage and Design Explorer, or hours already sent to a Pessage timesheet or a Design Explorer project; those stay with that project's records. Write to the address above to remove them too.
Your rights
You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. Much of this you can do yourself: the app exports everything as CSV or as a full backup. For the rest, write to gorkytecture@gmail.com.
Children
Timeabit is a work tool. It is not intended for, or directed at, anyone under 16.
